In the 80s, it was gated reverbs and the icy sound of FM synths; in the 90s, it was the gritty sound of home and garage recordings.

In hindsight, it always becomes evident that the preceding decade gave birth to unique sounds and styles that defined its music. As we look back on the 2010s, we realize that it too developed its own unique sonic signature. In the video below, we explore the production techniques that we heard all over the radio across the last ten years, from pitched vocal chops to sidechained chords and genre crossovers.
