UNIIQU3 on the art of sampling and the sonic identity of Jersey club

“Jersey club is the pulse,” UNIIQU3 says.

“It’s an offspring—it’s our version of house music. The genre is a rambunctious and sweet firecracker. It means everything to me.”

A pioneer in the Jersey club movement, UNIIQU3 has solidified herself as one of the most electrifying producers in the scene. From throwing some of Jersey’s hottest DIY events like her signature #135theParty to spreading Jersey club across the globe, UNIIQU3 leaves her mark wherever she goes. Her records have been heard on countless festival and club sound systems through the hands of some of the most influential people in dance music, including the likes of Skrillex, A-Trak, Diplo, Anna Lunoe, Nina Las Vegas, and Sinjin Hawke.

Above, UNIIQU3 is joined by fellow New Jersey icons Just Blaze and Rah Digga in an exploration of the evolution of Jersey club, the art of sampling, and more. Throughout the video, UNIIQU3 also shares how she developed her sound as an artist and reflects on Jersey club’s close connections with other genres, the dancefloor, and Black music roots.
