Model 72 Synthesizer System

An expert emulation of immaculate hardware from 1972, with all the quirks and non-linearities still intact. Access all the warmth and smoothness heard on countless records, plus modern features like a doubler, stereo spread effect, and expanded controls.

The tone generator is the heart of Model 72, with 3 powerful oscillators—including one that can be unlinked from incoming note information to use as a free-running modulation oscillator, with extended tuning range and different waveforms. Pick the layers you want with the 5 switches in the mixer section.

Combined signals from the mixer enter a voltage-controlled, feedback-enabled low-pass filter, which can be dynamically controlled with the dedicated envelope generator or the modulation section. Dual envelopes allow you to shape the harmonic content and amplitude of your final sound independently.

The modulation section includes a note glide control, modulation mix, and a Master Tune knob to fine-tune the Model 72. Modulate oscillator pitch, filter cutoff frequency, or both with Oscillator 3, noise, or a dedicated LFO. Overall modulation depth can be easily controlled with the on-board mod wheel.

Model 80 Five Voice Synthesizer

A precise model of an industry-defining five-voice polyphonic synth from 1980, heard on countless hits from Michael Jackson, Madonna, Radiohead, The Cars, and more. Create your own sounds with authentic interactions and performance from the original unit.

To authentically recreate the experience of recalling presets on the original hardware, Model 80 offers the 40 original factory presets with buttons on the programmer to call them up. The five voices and their relationship are painstakingly replicated to create the real sound, feel, and experience of the original.

To accurately capture the original hardware, Softube carefully reproduced phase relationships and modulation polarity, authentically emulating the sound, modulation, and feel of this mythical synth. Plus, an Invert Voice Mod button on the side panel lets you take this even further than the original.

On the right of the Model 80 GUI is a 'hidden' expander panel that lets you tweak some details of the Voice Mod behavior and performance aspects of the Model 80. Click on the wooden border at the far right and the slide-in expander panel will pop up, revealing another 8 parameters for tweaking.

Model 82 Sequencing Mono Synth

A skilled emulation of the most-used mono synth of the 1980s and 1990s—sequencer and arpeggiator included. Equipped with modern features like stereo doubling and drive, the Model 82 is the stuff of dance dreams, whether you play it live or use it in your productions.

The original has been called the “sound of electronic music”. Model 82 embodies those iconic lead, bass, and arpeggiated sounds, with every circuit and interaction modeled in glorious detail to preserve the unmistakable dry mono sound. It’s fun, quicker and easier to use, and sounds fantastic.

The hardware put techno on a roll thanks to the sequencer and arpeggiator, letting users focus on the oscillator, filters, and other controls without being a trained keyboardist. Model 82 provides the same performance, experimentation, and spontaneity, optimized for the DAW.

Softube kept the delightfully straightforward workflow while adding modern features, adjusting the labeling and layout so you can find the sound you want even faster. Model 82 also has new drive and doubling knobs, letting you give your sounds some weight and width for modern stereo productions.

Model 84 Polyphonic Synthesizer

From 1980s lushness to the modern Synthwave revival, this keyboard’s musical performance helped it achieve icon status. Carefully emulated to match this performance, the Model 84 offers the same well-known sounds, unique features of the original hardware (including 2 poly modes), and fresh innovations.

Softube poured the same energy into modeling the Model 84 as they do every piece of gear, offering voice allocation modes, a meticulously recreated unison phase, and an EQ—with bass boost for extra oomph—that let you achieve the sounds that made the original synth an industry touchstone.

Get authentic sound without fussing with knobs. Model 84 comes packed with classic sounds, original patches, distorted basses, and the Synthwave heard on many classic and contemporary albums, plus incredible artist presets that range from retro sounds to modern, fat, wide, and crispy leads.

Get ’80s mojo in the digital domain—your way. Extended unison mode lets you control sync and enables a more pronounced attack, velocity and aftertouch support offer a more dynamic performance, and added velocity and aftertouch parameters in the expanded control panel can easily fine-tune sound and behavior.
