Stargate is a Norway-hailing production duo formed by the creative synergy between Mikkel S. Eriksen and Tor E. Hermansen.
One of the most successful production and songwriting acts of the ’00s and ’10s, their collaborators include the likes of Tiësto, Sia, and Murda Beatz.
Today, Stargate is back to award another round of scholarships for their production and songwriting school, LAAMP (Los Angeles Academy for Artists and Music Production). The immersive program places a keen focus on contemporary pop music recording and brings together talented music producers, artists, and songwriters in a dynamic, collaborative environment designed for learning and growth. LAAMP’s roster of past and present mentors includes legends like Diplo, Ne-Yo, Oliver, and Tayla Parx.
“We wanted to create an environment where young, talented, and driven music creators can meet and take their music to the next level,” the duo shares. “A safe environment where you can find your true voice without judgement or the pressure of grades or degrees—where the work itself and the process of making it is the focus. Over our 20-year career, we have seen so many people make their dreams come true though music. Music is truly a language that breaks down barriers and brings people together.”
