Win $1,000 and get your song pitched to K-pop artists by LYRE

Here’s a chance to have your music heard by one of the most active K-pop teams in the business.

LYRE is a production and topline team comprised of Alina Smith, Elli Moore, and Gisselle. They’ve worked on songs such as “Mafia in the Morning” by ITZY, “Giddy” by Kep1er, “Karma” by BLACKSWAN, and “Sweet Juice” by PURPLE KISS, as well as many other global pop releases by artists like CHUNG HA, tripleS, OH MY GIRL, JO YURI, and others. Their work has also been featured in various publications including Forbes Magazine, ELLE, Billboard Magazine, Rolling Stone, American Songwriter, 1883 Magazine, and more.

The challenge

In celebration of the release of their latest sample pack on Splice Sounds, we’re excited to announce that the inaugural Splice Song Competition is hosted by none other than LYRE themselves.

There are two approaches you can take to join:

  1. If you’re a producer, download the five samples from the Collection in the #battle-announcements channel on the Splice Discord and create an instrumental track you think LYRE would be inspired by. The key is to make a compelling instrumental while leaving room for a topline (melody and lyrics). You can add your own drums, melodies, or any other elements, but you must use the five samples. Feel free to flip them however you want.
  2. If you’re more of a singer / songwriter, make your own song using Create for inspiration. Pick any loop from LYRE’s pack, and then create a Stack by clicking this icon:

How to enter

The maximum submission length is 1:30. You’ll have until 6:00 p.m. EST on April 1st, 2024 to submit your song via the Splice Discord. Once submissions have closed, you’ll have until 6:00 p.m. EST on April 4th, 2024 to vote for three other tracks. If you do not vote for three other tracks, you will be automatically disqualified. Only entrants are allowed to vote. LYRE will be announcing the winners via a livestream shortly after the voting period ends.

Prizing

The first-place winner will receive $1,000 USD and the opportunity to have LYRE work on their demo and submit it for pitch to K-pop artists. Please keep in mind that Alina will evaluate demos based on her artistic perspective and their compatibility with various artist projects’ current direction; selection of any entry isn’t guaranteed.

The second-place winner will receive $500 USD, and the third-place winner will receive $250 USD.
