Mikey Reaves (Luke Combs, Jelly Roll) gives an exclusive studio tour

Mikey Reaves is a Nashville-based songwriter, producer, and multi-instrumentalist.

He has collaborated with some of the biggest names in country, pop, and rock, including the likes of Luke Combs, Cody Johnson, Miranda Lambert, Jelly Roll, Chris Stapleton, Nate Smith, Brothers Osborne, and Reba McEntire. His work has earned multiple accolades, including GRAMMY nominations and CMA wins.

In celebration of the recent release of his Mikey’s Country Mojo and Spice sample pack, we had the unique opportunity to visit Reaves’ studio for an exclusive tour. Join us above to hear him discuss his favorite gear and watch him start a track in a matter of minutes with Create.

“There’s a very basic track,” Reaves says as he wraps his session. “Write a song to it, and the rest will reveal itself and you can finish the production from there. I try not to make it over-complicated; I try to just keep it fast-moving and make quick decisions.”

“And that’s what’s really helpful about Splice in general, and especially this Create function. So, be sure to check out my pack under Splice Country—it’s going to be there along with a lot of other great packs that I’ve already been using a ton, and I know a lot of my fellow songwriters in town have been using. They’re just really helpful songstarters and production Lego pieces that have definitely been a game changer, and I’m really excited to see how this grows and develops, because it’s just a beautiful thing.”
