Madame Gandhi takes on our inaugural episode of Producer’s Choice

Madame Gandhi is an award-winning artist and activist known for her uplifting and percussive electronic music.

She has toured on the drums for everyone from M.I.A to Oprah, and her nuanced productions and insightful talks have been critically acclaimed by The New York Times, Billboard, NPR, and more. She’s also known by the music creator community for her sample packs, which emphasize meticulously recorded and processed field recordings.

For our inaugural episode of Producer’s Choice—a beatmaking game where a producer builds a track by “buying” creative prompts at different price points from a 6×5 board—we invited Madame Gandhi to make a track from scratch in Ableton Live. Watch along as she’s challenged to beatbox, incorporate field recordings, use the Splice x Ableton Live integration, feature a vocal from Splice INSTRUMENT, and more to build her arrangement.

For more from Madame Gandhi, be sure to also check out her expedition to Antarctica, where she captured the sound of climate action in partnership with Sound MANA:

And there you have it! What was your favorite part of Madame Gandhi’s session? Who would you like to see us feature on the next episode of Producer’s Choice?
