KSHMR gives an exclusive tour of his legendary LA studio

Few artists have left their sonic footprint on popular music like KSHMR.

Rising from his early days in the hip hop duo The Cataracs to becoming a staple of the international EDM scene, KSHMR boasts an extensive catalog of hit singles and festival anthems.

Within the music producer community, he’s also widely known for his chart-topping Sounds of KSHMR sample pack series—an influential collection of meticulously-crafted loops, one-shots, and presets that has become an essential part of the sonic toolkits of creators worldwide.

In celebration of the long-anticipated release of Sounds of KSHMR Vol.5, we had the unique opportunity to join him for an exclusive tour of his iconic LA music studio. From his microphone setup to preamp and effects rack selections, vocal booth treatment, and more, KSHMR provides a detailed breakdown of how he crafts his studio space. Along the way, he also shares anecdotes around his landmark releases, favorite knickknacks, and other untold stories.

“Don’t overthink it,” KSHMR shares as he wraps the studio tour. “You want to set up a studio, of course, and later when you get rich and you get famous, yeah, build your dream studio. But, you’re going to find—even after you get all the stuff you want—that the most important things were right there in front of you all along.”
