Splice’s world-class sounds library has partnered with COLORS, the genre-less music discovery platform that spotlights distinctive artists from across the globe.
Following our DUOTONE series, we’re excited to announce our next collaboration: a Splice x COLORS beat battle.
Due to involving an in-person component, this beat battle is only open to those who live within 50 miles of Brooklyn, New York. If you live outside of this area, don’t worry and hang tight—we’ll be hosting a separate battle for virtual participants soon.
The challenge
Create an instrumental track between 0:45 and 1:00 in length (if your track is outside of this length, it will be disqualified). If you’re not sure where to start, COLORS shares the Collections below for inspiration:
Once you have your track, upload it to SoundCloud and submit it via BeatBattle.app here. Submissions will be open until 11:59 p.m. EST on July 7th, 2025.
After submissions have closed, 10 entrants will be chosen as finalists to have their tracks compete in-person in Brooklyn, New York on Wednesday, July 9th, 2025. The event will start around 6:00 p.m. EST, and a panel consisting of COLORS artists and A&R / curation team members will determine the winners. Even if you’re not competing, you can still join us and witness the event by RSVPing here.
Prizing
The first-place winner will receive $1,000 USD, a spot at the first-ever Splice x COLORS writing camp, and a pair of TYPE 05 A-CORE HEDD speakers. The second-place winner will receive $500 USD, and the third-place winner will receive $250 USD.
