How to make a synth pad using your own voice (free preset included)

Even if you’re not a vocalist, your voice can still be used as a powerful instrument.

With the help of some sampling and processing, we can transform our voices into great-sounding synths that can be used in a wide variety of applications. In the video tutorial above, we walk through how to create our very own synth pad in Ableton, using nothing but our own vocals.

If you’d like to play around with the synth pad we created in the video before making your own, feel free to download the preset and the project file containing the voice recordings.

Do you have any questions on how to turn your voice into a sampler instrument? What kind of tutorial would you like to see next? Let us know in the comments below.
