Producers react to famous EDM samples (Daft Punk, Tiësto, and more)

Have you ever wondered about the sounds that are behind your favorite EDM tracks?

For decades, sampling has been a cornerstone of EDM production, and even the biggest artists in the genre today are continuing to flip and incorporate existing samples into their own works. In the video above, veteran music producers John Grand and Max Nepa-Rewak sat down with us to react to some samples that are heard in tracks by the likes of Daft Punk, Fred again.., Tiësto, and others. Follow along to see if you can recognize any of the samples, and learn about how some of these iconic tracks came together.

“We had a great time reacting to these EDM samples today,” Max shares. “We loved seeing what the artists did with the samples, whether they were from Splice Sounds or other sources—we just love sampling culture in general, so this was super fun.”
