Splice Sounds, in any app—even the ones you create.
We’re embracing MCP, an open protocol that allows users to build their own applications and connect the tools they rely on, and you can now experience our first integration via Splice Sounds in Claude. It’s a new way to search, discover, and curate sounds from our catalog of artist-made sounds, wherever your workflow takes you.
Getting started with the integration takes just a few steps. In Claude, navigate to Settings → Connectors, find Splice in the directory, and click Connect. Your browser will open to authenticate your Splice account, and once you’re in, you’ll see the full list of currently available tools, with more on the way.
In the walkthrough video above, we explore a few workflows that these tools enable, from running parallel searches to quickly build a drumkit to using videos as inspiration for Stacks that can serve as starting points for a track. With Claude Cowork, you can even scan your local Splice library and streamline the creation of curated folders, so power users of hardware samplers can dedicate less time to manual sorting and more time to beat making and production.
These workflows are just a few examples of what’s possible—we expect that creators will find their own ways of using the integration that best serve how they work. Whether it’s a search method we haven’t considered or a curation habit that’s tailored to a specific setup, we’re curious to see what you discover and would love to hear your thoughts via the comments section of the video or the Splice Discord. We’re listening, and looking to build from what we learn.
And lastly, it’s also worth noting that nothing about the traditional Splice experience has changed. We’re embracing MCP as an open-source protocol alongside other creative platforms because we believe the music creation ecosystem can benefit when tools talk to each other, and we want sounds crafted by artists to be available in every workflow—this has been a core theme to many other experiences we’ve built over the years, like Splice Bridge and our DAW integrations. That said, searching for sounds via the web, desktop app, or Splice Sounds Plugin (beta) works exactly as it always has, and those aren’t going anywhere.
The Claude connector is another avenue we’re exploring to help more people get more out of Splice’s artist-made sample library—one that might suit certain workflows, and also might not be for everyone. As always, the goal is to give you more ways to stay inspired and keep creating.
