Swedish-speaking Finnish music trio KAJ has captured the world’s hearts and attention with their Eurovision 2025 entry, “Bara Bada Bastu.”
A tribute to Finland and Sweden’s sauna culture, the song captures the quiet magic of posting up with your crew in the steam, where worries fade and both the body and spirit find relief—and it’s doing so on one of music’s most-watched stages: the Eurovision Song Contest. The annual songwriting competition between 30+ countries reaches over 160 million viewers globally, and it’s where legends are born (think ABBA and Måneskin) and national identities become international anthems.
The only thing that rivals the iconic theme of “Bara Bada Bastu” is its evocative accordion melody, which channels the song’s composed but blazing passion before KAJ’s vocals kick in. Music producers were quick to connect the dots that this melody is actually a Splice sample from KSHMR—an artist who’s beloved not only for his own music but also for Sounds of KSHMR, his series of royalty-free sample packs that have inspired hits by everyone from DJ Snake and BLACKPINK to now KAJ.
“I am very happy to see Sounds of KSHMR being used in a Swedish hit,” KSHMR says. “I’m just proud to be a small part of creating the next generation of hit songs.”
Like KSHMR, we’re also proud to be a part of this song and moment that’s bringing people together—through the power of music, and much more importantly, a shared love for saunas.
