Introducing Splice Sounds

Samples are one of the critical building blocks of music creation. Since the first hip hop DJs began sampling vinyl records in the 1970s, samples have provided endless inspiration for producers around the world. While tremendous on-demand services like Spotify have been created for discovering, consuming, and organizing our music libraries, no such tools exist on the music creation side. With over 160,000 musicians transferring over 2 terabytes of data a day, Splice has become the backbone for artists’ workflow. In our ongoing effort to connect the fragmented music creation process, we are announcing the launch of Splice Sounds, the first ever subscription service to offer access to the world’s largest browsable database of sounds with seamless integration into the music creation process.

Splice Sounds provides unlimited browsing and auditioning of a growing library of over 500,000 royalty-free sounds from the world’s top sound providers, including our flagship partner Loopmasters. With advanced browsing, search and filtering capabilities, Splice Sounds makes it easy to find the perfect sounds for your productions, whether you are looking for one shot kicks or snares, bass loops, vocal acapellas or ambient sounds. Never before have producers been able to pick and choose the exact samples they need in the moment of creation and seamlessly drop them right into their DAW. Subscribers can also build their personal sound collection from anywhere, including their mobile device, by curating “Custom Packs” of sounds they discover and like. Every month, Splice Sounds users are given a new allotment of credits to download the sounds they choose from the service. Users are granted a perpetual royalty-free license for all downloaded sounds.

By offering subscribers a new valuable user experience at an affordable price, the Splice Sounds platform aims to significantly grow the revenue potential in the industry while dramatically reducing piracy over the long run. We are excited to have the support of the leading sample provider, Loopmasters, which has over a decade of experience in the industry. “Splice is spearheading how musicians today create, collaborate and protect their music,” said Matt Pelling, CEO of Loopmasters. “As a partner of its new subscription service we are proud to be presenting the discovery of sounds in a completely new way, one that streamlines creative workflow and allows sounds to be delivered to musicians easily so they can focus on what they do best – creating music.”

Splice Sounds strives to be the ultimate tool to discover, organize, backup, and use all of your samples, loops, and audio files. We’re starting by offering a powerful core set of features under a beta release and plan to add more content, including exclusives from leading artists, while we continue to develop features based on feedback from our amazing user community.
