Watch along to get a sense of how the plugins sound, and download them via the links below.

1. KOMPLETE START by Native Instruments

KOMPLETE START is a collection by Native Instruments containing 18 instruments and effects as well as over 2,000 sounds. Whether you’re just starting out with learning how to make music or you’re a production veteran, there’s something for everyone in this generous suite. 2. Kilohearts Essentials by Kilohearts

Another bundle you have to check out is Kiloheart’s Kilohearts Essentials. Also featured in our list of great plugins for making melodies, Kilohearts’ free effects collection has something useful for all stages of the creation process, spanning composition and sound design to mixing and mastering. In the video, we use the Reverser to transform the texture of our chord progression.

3. Podolski by u-he

Few other plugin manufacturers are known for their synths like u-he, and Podolski certainly lives up to their name. Containing solely one oscillator, one envelope, one filter, and a sequencer / arpeggiator, Podolski is simple on the surface, but provides hours of immersive sound design and endless high-quality sounds. Hear how we produce a wobbling synth pad using it in the video.

4. Zebralette by u-he

Last but not least, Zebralette is another top free synth from u-he. A lite version of Zebra2, the spectral synth offers both great presets and enough flexibility for you to mold your own sounds from scratch. Check out our video to see how it pairs up against Podolski.
