Jeremy Sylvester - 90's Deep

Featured story

A living UKG legend

Club Asylum is the alias of UK garage musician and industry mainstay, Jeremy Sylvester. Club Asylum was originally a duo that consisted of Sylvester and Paul Emanuel. After the duo decided to go their separate ways, Sylvester continued to produce and remix under the Club Asylum moniker as a solo artist and is still active to the present day. Sylvester and Emanuel first met during the early days of the UK garage scene at the London-based house and garage label Nice 'N' Ripe. The duo scored their first chart entry in 1998 with "Freek Me Up", a bootleg vinyl release of the Jodeci song "Freek'n You", which reached No. 92 on the UK Singles Chart.

As a DJ, Jeremy is capable of covering a vast repertoire of styles, blending them into one signature sound. Combining a mix of deep house/garage, classic '90s style house, deep tech, and jacking with a bit of old skool 4×4 garage thrown in for good measure, Jeremy’s diversity and sheer panache are second to none.

Having been a fundamental part of the UK scene since the '90s, Jeremy has amassed his vast knowledge with a great perception of what works, applying that to his solo work while mixing in something innovative and fresh. Respected EDM figureheads like Disclosure and Basement Jaxx have shown great support for Jeremy’s talent and vision. He's worked with artists like Shola Ama, All Saints, KC & JoJo, and Kristine Blonde, as well as some of today's best DJs and vocalists on pioneering new tracks.
