Dollar Bin: Resampled Soul

Featured story

From LA to Miami to your DAW

Jason Matthews and Justin Andreas collaborated from across the country to bring you these one-of-a-kind sounds. Drawing on each of their influences led them down a winding path to create an eclectic collection of funk, soul, and hip hop sounds for your next production.

Jason Matthews is a Miami-based keyboardist, composer, and producer born and raised in Philadelphia. Since 2014, he’s toured internationally as a sideman with Cuban singer, Danay Suarez; British blues guitarist, Matt Schofield; Latin percussionist and arranger, Tony Succar; and pedal steel guitarist Roosevelt Collier. He’s performed as a Moog soloist with the New World Symphony, Asheville Symphony, and Amarillo Symphony. He has earned two Latin GRAMMY nominations for producing, writing, and engineering Danay Suarez’s 2017 LP Palabras Manuales.

Justin Andres grew up playing music in Northwest Indiana, and is now an in-demand session and touring bassist, guitarist, and musical director in Los Angeles. Justin has performed in over 50 countries with a variety of artists and on countless TV appearances, including the Latin Grammys, the Tonight Show, Good Morning America, and more. He is currently bassist and musical director for legendary Rock n’ Roll Hall of Fame artist Eric Burdon & the Animals.
