What's Your Perspective on Sampling and Using Loops?
I hear a lot of young producers, in particular these days, kind of joke about using samples or using sample companies. And in my environment, a lot of the players I'm surrounded by and producers who are probably huge influences in music around the world, they really don't have rules. It's like does this sound good? So if you're using a sample, it doesn't really matter. If you use something from a pack that other people have used, make it your own.
What Types of Sounds can Users Expect from This Pack?
The instruments and sounds I think y'all can expect from this pack will be drum focused, primarily organic sounds, but I want to create feels that inspired me from house, electro, techno, disco. So it will have those kind of classic Detroit rhythms, but with organic sonics.
How Would you Describe Your Sound?
If I had to describe my sound, I guess it would just be heavily influenced from a lot of music that I grew up surrounded by in Michigan, so jazz, hip hop, Motown, house, techno. It's all kind of a combination of that.
What do Hope do you have for Producers Using Your Samples?
I hope new producers can use this pack to flesh out ideas, or get more kind of comfortable, or get an ear for a sound they're trying to make.
What Piece of Advice Would you Give to Your Younger self starting out in music?
I mean, as cliche as it sounds, I'd probably say there's no equation, and it's not a straight line. And I just remind myself we do this, So just to stay inspired, you know, and surround yourself with people that are gonna inspire you and help you grow.
