Combining two inspirations to define a sound

Kolonie is London-based trance and progressive DJ/producer Kane Harris who received support from icons like Paul Van Dyk, Above & Beyond, and Markus Schulz. Characterized as uplifting progressive with old-school trance elements, the foundation of Kolonie’s sound is built upon vocal chops, catchy melodies, and rolling basslines. Harris grew up listening to trance music as a kid and always looked up to the likes of Paul van Dyk, Tiësto, and Chicane, to name a few. Those DJs first sparked his passion for electronic music. As a teenager, he listened to Eric Prydz, Swedish House Mafia, and the like. Harris says the Kolonie sound has evolved from both genres over time.
