Building with musicians, for musicians.
Creating music can ignite a sense of purpose—the joy and frustration that emerge from bringing your own sonic ideas to life. For more than a decade, we’ve been building tools with musicians, for musicians. Tools that keep music makers in control, protect their rights, and help them express their identity.
Today, I’m excited to share two new Beta releases that mark the next step in our journey: our new in-DAW integration with Ableton Live, now available via their public beta program, and Splice Soundcheck, our Beta program, which now includes an experimental suite of generative AI capabilities.
Ableton Live Splice integration (Beta)
We know that workflow is everything. That’s why we’re introducing a new in-DAW integration as part of Ableton Live 12.3—now in beta. Splice has long sought to collaborate with Ableton, and since launching our first DAW integration with Studio One, this has been one of the most anticipated partnerships. Together, Splice and Ableton are uniting two of the most essential music tools into one seamless creative experience.
With the integration, you can:
- Access Splice sounds directly inside Ableton Live in perfect sync with your project
- Search with Sound: Highlight a section or drop in audio to discover Splice samples that are harmonically compatible
- Drag-and-drop samples directly into your Ableton Live project without creative interruption
By bringing Splice even closer to where music is made, we’re giving producers more flow and less friction.
Soundcheck (Beta)
While some music tech companies have suggested that musicians don’t enjoy making music, we’ve spent the last year collaborating with artists and producers to push the boundaries of what’s possible with even more creative control.
Our approach to this work is rooted in a “sound-first” philosophy. We recognize that for many of our customers, the creative process always begins with sound—a drum beat, bassline, or melody—not with prompts or predefined parameters. This fundamental understanding has guided our development, ensuring that these new generative AI tools support genuine artistic expression and bring new life to the depth of the Splice catalog. Every sound created with these tools begins with a human-made Splice sample, and each use triggers a licensing event that credits and compensates the original creators.
Now available in Soundcheck:
- Play – Turn any Splice sound into a playable multi-sample preset inspired by the original instrument
- Transform – Flip and combine the timbre and structure of loops to create new sounds that fit your vision
- Variations – Expand a single sound into endless creative possibilities, made just for you
- Blend – Combine the sonic texture of different sounds to create something never heard before
Over the past 12 months, we’ve worked with a group of more than 50 producers and sample creators to test these tools. The feedback so far has been inspiring. KSHMR, one of Splice’s original sample pack producers, said, “Splice is creating something that only a few years ago people would have thought was flat-out impossible. Each of these tools would be groundbreaking plugins on their own.”
Now, we’re inviting more of you to explore these new tools. Soundcheck is open exclusively to Splice customers, offering access to experimental new features designed to spark inspiration, unlock new creative possibilities, and ensure artists remain in complete control of their work.
Building the future, together
We know the creative process is deeply personal. That’s why Splice continues to collaborate with our community to build valuable tools that expand your creative experience, preserve authenticity, and uphold your artistic rights. These new experiences are the next step in that promise.
I look forward to hearing what you create next.
