Electric piano sound design tips with J3PO

J3PO is a keyboardist, producer, and engineer who has worked alongside some of the world’s best musicians.

While he has extensive touring experience with the likes of Snarky Puppy and Marcus Miller, he’s also equally respected for his intricate sound design work, especially in the realm of analog and software synthesizers. In the tutorial video above, J3PO shares his knowledge with the Splice community, using the Mark One instrument in XLN Audio’s Addictive Keys Complete Collection to craft some rich and surprising sounds. While you can follow along with the instrument, there are also plenty of sound design gems mentioned throughout the video that are relevant no matter what software you use.

If you like J3PO’s sounds, check out his extended collection of Mark One presets here.
