Bryn Bliska studied neuroscience and music at Brown University before working as a Graduate Research Assistant in Tod Machover's Opera of the Future group at the MIT Media Lab. Now a freelance creative, she frequently collaborates with artists and producers across many genres. She has also scored video and podcast projects for The New York Times, NPR, the Getty Museum, and TED. An artist in her own right, she was a recipient of the 2015 ASCAP Young Jazz Composer Award and is excited to be releasing new solo work in 2020. Her creative mission is to support historically marginalized and underrepresented people and to amplify their sounds and stories.
This is our second pack in the series of packs we recorded at Red Bull Studios NYC. We recorded piano, Rhodes, and vocals, then added some sound design and rhythmic elements to round out it out. The result is a fusion of jazz and soul loops with a delicate vibe. The vocals were recorded with an AKG C12; Rhodes with a U47; and piano with an AEA R84 all through 1073 preamps.
