Cosmos & Creature offer lush vocals reminiscent of 90s soul with a modern twist
With a new single and an upcoming album produced by Steve Aoki, Cosmos & Creature are experiencing a moment that can best be described as euphoric. The duo has found the sweet spot between creating music that's authentically their's with crafting a sound that appeals to large audiences. Their sound captures the attention of the audience with nods to nostalgia combined with a freshness that can be hard to find. They've taken the most timeless elements of 90s soul and ran with them.
Moore and Brandyn Burnette (aka EMAN8) have been on a compelling voyage as Cosmos & Creature. Throughout their short career, the group has achieved many milestones, including opening for John Mayer, Dua Lipa, Bebe Rexha, and James Bay. Alongside their work together, both Moore and Burnette individually write and produce for other artists. Collectively, they maintain over 100 million streams between their projects, which include songwriting and production for the Backstreet Boys, Jesse McCartney, and k-pop icons EXO.
Their latest single, "The Wonder" produced by Aoki has been warmly received by fans and the music industry. As well as its accompanying music video directed by Cody Dobie—a stunning visual and hallucinatory ascension of self-discovery and introspection.
We brought the eccentric and talented duo into the studio to share their pop earworm hooks with Splice creators. We recorded on a BOCK 47 through Avedis MA5 preamps and put through a CL1B compressor. We hope you share what you create with these pop vocals with us!
