With its roots in the military, the drumline has become a rallying cry for parades, pep rallies, festivals, carnivals, and sometimes even weddings. Not to mention, a key element in many hip hop and trap productions. The Harlem-based Marching Cobras gathered at Bridge Studios in Brooklyn to record this pack using rhythms from all over the world—from marching bands to Carnival, and even Mardi Gras.
They recorded a mix of various rhythms and tempos to craft a nice percussion floor and layered sounds to create a marching band feel. These sounds were recorded using vintage C414s, a U47, and a Fet 47 through Neve 1073 preamps. We hope they had the energy you're looking for in your next track.
