The Middle East Essentials series by Gio Israel set the goal of capturing the most diverse, high-quality, and unique musical material. Making ancient music, sounds, and instruments accessible through state of the art sound sampling.
Drums have been beaten through the Middle East since the dawn of music—in ritual, ceremony, for recreational use, and in battle. For this pack, we gathered the fundamental Middle Eastern percussive instruments: darbuka, riq (the Middle Eastern tambourine), frame drums (bendir, Persian daf), dahola (clay darbuka), davul, tombak (aka zarb).
This pack offers the range of the classical Arabic rhythms in a variety of BPMs, as well as some contemporary mixed beats.
Musicians who contributed to this pack include: Yoni Sharon, Yochai Cohen, Zafer Tawil, Yoni Ben-dor, and Elad Kimchi.
