Emotional Melodic House Samples by MYRNE – A Producer’s Guide

For over a decade, Singapore-based producer MYRNE has carved out a sound that's both emotionally resonant and sonically adventurous, blending rich melodic textures with the pulse of modern electronic music. Known for his immersive compositions and instinct for melodic nuance, he now turns his focus to empowering the next wave of creators. In his debut Splice sample pack, Emotional Melodic House, MYRNE distills his personal library of synth-driven, nature-inspired tones into a collection designed to be both evocative and endlessly flexible. We caught up with him to talk about the philosophy behind the pack, his creative roots, and why he's excited for producers to flip his sounds into something uniquely their own.

Splice: Tell us about yourself – what led you to production and creating samples?

MYRNE: My name is MYRNE, and I’ve been making music for over a decade. Initially, I was attracted to the fact that music production was the most accessible, democratic way for everyone to try their hand at composing something real and unique on their own - with the bare essentials of a laptop and widely available software. At the start, samples heavily guided a lot of my initial music making process, and the time has come for me to ‘give back’ in that sense

Splice: What inspired the sounds included in this sample pack?

MYRNE: A lot of these sounds contain palettes that I use heavily in my own productions. Sounds that are inspired by nature, made on my personal collection of hardware synths, comprise the majority of this pack. A lot of the samples are also made with an emphasis on simple, coherent melodies, embellished by automation and further polished by unique processing. There’s something for everyone in every genre in this pack.

Splice: What do you hope the Splice community will do with their sounds?

MYRNE: My honest hope is that they’ll further cut up, effect, reverse, distort, and further process them! It almost feels like a collaboration where you send off stems to someone else for their work on it. I’m hoping the ideas generated by these samples will further inspire the community to make them unique and theirs in their own special way.

Splice: Do you have any advice for other musicians who are striving to move into the world of sample creation?

MYRNE: Your ‘sound’ is a collection of your habits, and your habits are often determined by what you naturally gravitate to. I’d recommend everyone who’s making music to dive deeper into sounds unfamiliar to them, to relentlessly challenge your own listening and music tastes, and to further broaden your breadth and depth of music making. Only then can you take your one-of-a-kind sensibilities into creating samples that are special and unique.
