Krewella on sound design, exploring the unusual, and more

Krewella is a veteran dance music duo formed in 2007 by sisters Jahan and Yasmine Yousaf.

Krewella became a household name in the electronic music scene in 2012 with their self-released EP Play Hard, which included chart-topping tracks like “Alive.”

In the years since, Krewella have continued to evolve their sound, incorporating influences from a wider array of genres and geographies with every release. Their latest full-length, zer0, explores the intersection between electronic music, intricate songwriting, and the duo’s Pakistani roots.

In celebration of their recent sample pack release, Krewella sat down with us in the video above to give the Splice community an inside look into their creative process. Learn about everything spanning their approach to sound design, how they take creative risks, and more.
