Following the approach of Unheard London, our team took EMF and contact microphones across Los Angeles to capture sounds that sit beyond what you can hear with the naked ear. From the electromagnetic activity around the LA Radio Tower, to the vibrations of the Santa Monica Pier rollercoaster, the machinery of Venice Skate Park, and the strange electric quiet of a driverless car, we captured the hidden sonic layers of the city. These recordings were then stretched, manipulated and transformed into expansive sound design presets.
