What is Splice Create?

An all-in-one music studio with the Splice catalog, instruments, and effects built in. Create helps sharpen your music production skills and break through creative blocks.

Is Create free to use?

The app is currently free with no time limit; however, you need a subscription (Creator, Creator+, or Create Pro) to export projects and license Splice samples.

What can I do with a Create Pro plan?

The Create Pro plan allows you to export projects, gives you monthly Rheo usage, and full access to download and license sounds from the Splice catalog directly in Create.

What is Assist in Create?

A studio tech inside your session. Ask it how to get to a sound; it teaches you the steps, follows along, or handles the repetitive parts, so you stay in your flow. You can point it at one track or one section, and one undo reverses the whole request.

Is Assist using Splice samples or generating new sounds?

Assist does not generate new sounds. It can search the Splice catalog for human-made samples, write a MIDI pattern, or interface with Variations. Everything lands in your project as editable audio.

Does Create work with my DAW, plugins, and samples?

Yes. Create is a standalone Mac app, not a plugin, and it works alongside the tools you already use. Bring in the plugins you own and your own sample folders, pick an Ableton, Logic, Bitwig, or Pro Tools shortcut preset during setup, and export a full mix or individual stems as WAV files to finish anywhere.

Does Create use AI?

Yes, Create uses AI. As with all of our products, our approach keeps you in full creative control. We use intelligent features to enrich your workflow, rather than just giving you a finished song. To learn more about our AI principles and how we protect creators, see our policy page.

What music do you train on?

Splice only trains on fully licensed data from our catalog and any time we use those sounds, the original creator is fairly compensated. We do not train on any music that you make in Create or upload into the product.

Do I own the music I make with Create?

Yes, and you can export it and share it provided you have a qualifying subscription (Create Pro, Splice Creator, Splice Creator+). We can also supply you with documentation in case you ever need to prove that your music is royalty-free and properly licensed.

Which operating systems does Create run on?

macOS 12+ only, for now. Windows and web coming soon.
