Celebrating your music | Songwriting Club

Another year has come and gone, and I’d like to congratulate each and every one of you on your songwriting accomplishments.

Whether you crafted one piece this year or cranked out hundreds of bangers, any creative output you achieved should be celebrated. Songwriting is no easy endeavor, and whether you’re aware of it or not, many of you have probably made some significant strides in 2019.

Before we ring in the new year, let’s take a step back and reflect on 2019. Today’s Songwriting Club prompt is simple: in the comments section below, share a link to your favorite song you wrote this year.

Let us know why you picked the track: Do the lyrics carry some sort of special meaning to you? Are you really proud of how the mix turned out? Was it your first commercial release? We want to know what makes your selection special.

In addition, be sure to leave a comment or some feedback on at least one other person’s track before you go — even if it seems small to you, your praise or critique can make a transformative impact on someone else’s craft.

I’ll kick things off — this year, my favorite track that I wrote was “Human” (a demo I created for this Songwriting Club prompt). Writing something upbeat is a real challenge for me, so I’m happy I was able to step out of my comfort zone.

Happy New Year to our Songwriting Club community! I hope you’ll join me in 2020 for many more songwriting ideas and prompts to come. Check back in for your next prompt on January 10th.
