Artist Stories: Asidious

This week we had an opportunity to catch up with Asidious. We asked him to tell us about his release Summer Nights” and to show us how Splice fits into his production workflow.

What inspired you to share this track with the Splice community?

Splice was another opportunity that was waiting for me to make use of to share my music. Unlike web services, such as Soundcloud and YouTube, once you post a track, everyone on splice can see it. It’s not one of those things where you need 1000+ followers to get noticed more.

Tell us about your approach to writing and production. Any favorite sample packs or plugins?

Sylenth1 has so far been one of my favorite plugins. I’m still quite new to sound design so having Sylenth with thousands of presets
out there on the Internet makes it easier to get the sound I want.

You’re primarily a FL Studio user. What is it about FL Studio that makes it your DAW of choice?

FL Studio is what I started on. The design and simplicity makes it so easy to use.

How has Splice had an impact on your production process or workflow?

Summer Nights is the first track I’ve posted on Splice, and in less than a month its gotten the most plays I’ve ever had on YouTube or SoundCloud.
The community on Splice is amazing, it really pushes me to keep going.

What are your influences at the moment?

Currently I’d have to say Mako, The Chainsmokers, and Hellberg, I love the amount of work and emotion they put into their songs.

You’ve had quite a few users in the community Splice the project file for “Summer Nights” – what do you hope that they’ll do with it?

I’d love to see some cool remixes of it, maybe even have someone throw some vocals over it.

Where do you think that you music is headed next? Anything that you’ll like to share with us?

Honestly, I’m not sure. I’m just trying my best to get from one spot to the next. Doesn’t matter if I have 10 or 10,000 followers, I’d still be producing music and sharing it with the world.

We’d like to thank Asidious for taking the time to chat with us and for offering us some insight into his process. We’re looking forward to hearing many more tracks from him! Be sure to keep an eye on his Splice profile at Asidious for all of his latest projects and upcoming releases.
