Beat deconstruction: Acid house

Beat deconstruction is where you take some loops you like and reverse engineer them. For this lesson, Pat looks at an acid house drum and bass loop and breaks down their parts. Why tho? There you go again, asking great questions. Beat construction does a number of things—it sharpens our ears and analytical powers, it teaches us how our favorite music works from the inside out, and it helps us with our sound designing skills. The point isn't to make an exact replication of the original. Instead, work to get as close as possible and let your recreation stand on its own.
