Born in Brooklyn, NY to the late Rev. Timothy Wright, Derrick Wright began playing drums at the early age of four in the church and began playing professionally when he was 15. He has recorded on numerous albums and recordings such as the Live at The Royal Albert Hall with Adele and Live at the Church Studios with Adele. Aside from Adele, Derrick also went on tour with Thalia and recorded on the Live in Mexico album.
Derrick Wright has also won many prestigious awards, including an Oscar and Emmy in 2013 for the hit song “Skyfall,” which was the featured song for the James Bond Motion Picture “SkyFall.” His work with Adele from 2009 through 2017 has also received Grammy Awards in the categories of Best New Artist, Record of the Year, Album of the Year, and Song of the Year. Today, he's working on some new and exciting projects and is looking forward to opening up a third recording studio.
