The ney is the most prominent flute in the Middle Eastern winds family. A sacred instrument traditionally believed to hold “the secret of god,” it's known throughout the entire region for its mesmerizing sound. It's been played continuously for 4,500–5,000 years, making it one of the oldest musical instruments still in use.
For this pack, we recorded brilliant musicians Niri Sade and Yagel Hroush playing a variety of styles ranging from Persian, Turkish, and Classical Arabic scales to contemporary styles specifically designed for modern production use.
