opsix is a sonic workhorse, with operators allowing an absolute storm of creativity. Use Subtractive, Semi-modular, Analog Modeling, Waveshaping, Additive, and Classic FM to explore a new sound by KORG, cleverly nicknamed “future-modern-classic”. opsix has Altered FM architecture and new waveforms, filters, shaping, effects, LFOs, envelopes, modulations, and more, all translating to something truly different.
Expand your sound
Create swirling soundscapes or add rhythmic motion to your sounds with six operator modes, 40 preset algorithms, and the ability to create your own. The MOD section works separate from the operators, with three envelope generators and three LFOs. opsix is also packed with 30 types of effects–everything from a great mix of essential effects like chorus, phaser, delay, and compressor to world-class shimmery reverbs and KORG’s famous MS-20 and Polysix filters.
Polyphonic motion sequencing
Get an incredible step sequencer that rivals groove boxes for flexibility. Record up to six notes per step and edit each note's velocity, gate time, and playback timing. Create long phrases or make subtle shifts in timing to emulate strums or drum rolls. Record changes with the motion sequencer to create smooth motion changes or build rhythms that change dramatically with each step.
Randomize
Make unexpected sonic discoveries with Randomize. Press the button marked with the die icon to completely scramble opsix parameters, generating a new, unique sound each time. Randomize all parameters or just for the operators, the algorithm, or the sequences. A perfect place to find inspiration or a reliable cure for writer’s block.
