How to get Minecraft Windows 10 Edition for Free! (Mojang News post)

This appears to be an unintentional posting. There is no redeem button on the Mojang account pages right now. I assume it'll be available tomorrow after the release.

Edit: The redeem button is now accessible for me and a lot of others! minecraft towny servers You can try it out! http://i.imgur.com/9j8pupC.png

Works for me: http://imgur.com/km6PcRN

What a shame for their support department.

I am able to click the redeem button on Microsoft's billing and account page however, it says there's an error. Is there a deadline for redemption for this redemption?

Windows 10 will be available "today"/ "tomorrow" depending on where you live. The button should be accessible at 12:01 in the morning of Wednesday, Sweden time.

There's no redeem button. I'm looking forward to tomorrow!

For those who still need Windows 10:

Manual install now available here.

Direct Links

32bit exe

64bit exe

If you have an addon that requires https, open it up in the sense that the link is only http.

Instructions:

Download the application.

Run it and go through the steps, it will let you format your USB drive or disk to run the installation.

Start the installer from the drive that you first installed it.

It will install and activate in a way that is automatic.

You can also save an ISO for later but do an in-place update first, so that your key is activated.

I have tried the beta and it worked perfectly.

I just received it. It's amazing to see how well-designed the game is. My computer's fans don't bother to start, and the CPU is nearly idle all the time.

Are there differences in the gameplay?

If it's running well on mobile, you'd expect it to perform pretty well on PC too:)

4 more responses

It was delivered just now. 2% CPU and 200mb on singleplayer LOL. The game is #NEXTGEN, but there is some noticeable mouse delay when looking around, otherwise looks great. Really wish we could edit a few additional settings like Mip-Mapping and AA. Textures turn mushy after a distance and the water glare is a bit odd. Apart from that, I'm happy with the port guys.

there is a noticeable mouse delay when looking around, but overall it looks great

I've noticed the same issue mouse acceleration appears to be weird as well.

It's a sloppy port at the time. It runs on C++, so it runs super smooth. But needs some touching up to be able to accommodate the PC players. It's an online game at the moment.

I apologize if this seems like a stupid question. But how did you get Windows 10? Did some people install Windows 10 early?
