Exploring the land before the 808 and Linn Drum

For us, walking into the Three Wave Music warehouse in New Jersey is like stepping inside a magical land filled with endless possibilities. We were like kids in a candy shop channeling our innermost passionate producers making sounds with these beautiful, classic instruments.

We created samples using the vintage Acetone FR-1 and FR-2L, as well as the Univox SR-55. These rhythmic boxes have been captured faithfully in their raw form through Avedis MA-5 preamps and also twisted and hyped to create something entirely new and modern that'll fit into any modern production. Through the use of granular synthesis and outboard processing with the Elysia Mpressors, Lexicon, and TC Helicon effects processors, we've taken these cosmic rhythm boxes to new depths in the universe.

We also scripted and created a Kontakt instrument based on the Univox SR-55's oscillators, which we used to create melodic and percussive loops. This Kontakt instrument is also offered along with 20 patches in case you want to go beyond the sample to craft your own sounds.

The resulting samples are primed and ready to use in your pop, R&B, or rap productions in whatever way creativity strikes.
