Since his debut &#8220;Brightness&#8221; EP,\u00a0<strong>Walden<\/strong>\u00a0has been on a production tear. His latest release, &#8220;Airodime,&#8221; balances a groovy and melodic feel\u00a0around an array of detailed FX. Walden tells us about his &#8220;Airodime&#8221; session:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em><strong>This blog post mentions Splice Studio, which is no longer active. Learn more about the shutdown <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/splice.com\/blog\/studio-shutdown\/\" target=\"_blank\">here.<\/a><\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p><span style=\"color: #222222;\">&#8220;Airodime is a special record for me because it is the first mixdown and master that I have done that I am truly 100% happy with and proud of. I used a combination of <a href=\"https:\/\/splice.com\/plugin-company\/waves-audio\">Waves<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/splice.com\/plugin-company\/fabfilter\">Fabfilter<\/a> plugins for compression\/fx, as well as the <a href=\"https:\/\/splice.com\/plugins\/393-m1\">Korg M1<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/splice.com\/plugins\/33-kontakt\">Native Instruments Kontakt<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/splice.com\/plugins\/130-fm8\">FM8<\/a>, FL&#8217;s <a href=\"https:\/\/splice.com\/plugins\/24023-harmor\">Harmor<\/a>\/Harmless and <a href=\"https:\/\/splice.com\/plugins\/155-nexus\">ReFX Nexus<\/a> for the majority of my synth lines. I also made some use of FL&#8217;s <a href=\"https:\/\/splice.com\/plugins\/21647-fruity-multiband-compressor\">multiband compressor<\/a> and sound colorer, Maximus!&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"color: #222222;\">The project is a little bit messy here and there as I am not the most organized of producers, but I think the file is a good representation of how I work in FL and what a finished and properly mixed down (and mostly stemmed out) record looks like for me. My master processing is not included in the project as I prefer to mixdown without compression and FX on the master. All mastering is done in a separate project file! Hope you guys find this project useful.&#8221;<\/div>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<p>Be sure to check out the interaction between&nbsp;<strong>KICKDRUM MAIN<\/strong> (Track 5) and<strong>&nbsp;KontattPIANO_Verbed<\/strong> (Track 10) which, through great sound design, makes it sound like the piano is side-chained to the kick. We also really liked the sound design on &nbsp;<strong>Subline Base<\/strong> (track 34) and <strong>Harmor Line<\/strong> (track 58)! Which are your favorite sounds?
