In the tutorial video above, we challenged ourselves to create our own future house track in just 15 minutes. Follow along for a detailed look into how we constructed and assembled the fundamental sonic building blocks of the genre, and see a summary below\u2014note that while the following plugins were key in shaping our sound, you can take many of the concepts we covered and apply them to your own toolkit.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
First, we began by sequencing a four-on-the-floor drum groove using an MPC in conjunction with a Collection of one-shots.<\/a> From there, we laid down a synth chord progression using Serum,<\/a> and refined the sound design with Blackhole\u00ae<\/a>\u00a0and\u00a0Crystals<\/a>\u2014two plugins that are available for free in our Students plan.<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n Once we crafted a loop that felt like a solid starting point, we uploaded it to Create<\/a> to find some complementary sounds. And as the final minutes started creeping up on us, we threw together a simple but effective bassline with Serum and added some final sound design touches by applying some granular synthesis<\/a> with Kilohearts’ Phase Plant.<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n
