This is not<\/em> an April Fool’s joke\u2014this month\u2019s challenge offers our biggest prize to date: the Arturia MatrixBrute Noir Edition.<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The MatrixBrute is a powerful analog synthesizer, able to make any sound you can imagine with its versatile modular system. Offering three Brute oscillators, a Steiner-Parker filter and ladder filter, five analog effects, and the incredible modulation matrix, it\u2019s flexible enough to let you create your own routings and sound palettes. And with 256 presets and easy recall, everything you need to make the sounds you\u2019re dreaming of is right at your fingertips.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Arturia also recently released Analog Lab Play, a free software instrument with a library of 100 essential, hard-hitting, mix-ready synths, keys, basses, pads, and more. In this challenge, you can use this powerful free tool to make some music and get your chance to win the sleek Noir Edition of the even more powerful MatrixBrute.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The challenge<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Create a track that showcases your sound design and songwriting. The track needs to be between 1 – 3 minutes long, and you must use at least one instance of Analog Lab Play (<\/strong>download it for free here<\/strong><\/a>).<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

You are free to add any other elements you like, including other samples, loops, synths, and even vocals\u2014whatever you think will really make your track shine. Any genre is acceptable; we\u2019re looking for overall creativity, quality, and listener appeal.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

You can even use some drum samples that we made with the MatrixBrute and Pigments (this is optional)\u2014just download them here.<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n

How to enter<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

You\u2019ll have until 6:00 p.m. EST on May 1st, 2024 to submit your song via the Splice Discord.<\/a> This will be followed by a voting period, and winners will be announced on the Splice Discord shortly after voting closes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Prizing<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

At the end of the voting period, three finalists will be picked: one by community votes, one by Splice, and one by Arturia. All three finalists will receive a free copy of Arturia Pigments 5<\/a> (or, if already owned, finalists can pick from any of Arturia\u2019s other offerings available on Splice<\/a>). From these three finalists, one grand prize winner will be selected to receive a free Matrixbrute Noir Edition<\/em>!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Submissions will be judged on creativity and originality, production quality, and cohesion (how well everything blends and fits together stylistically).<\/p>\n\n\n\n
