When you think of Splice Sounds,<\/strong><\/a> you might picture the guitar loop you just heard on a hit song, or a sample pack from your favorite artist or producer.<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

But did you know that Splice has a dedicated team of sound designers who travel around the world to capture sounds? In the video above, Splice Discord<\/a> team member Walt tries to guess the sources of some of these innovative and unexpected samples. From there, he teams up with Nick Chen<\/a> once again<\/a> to sample a few of them and produce a beat, transforming the sounds into unique textures and rhythms with tools like Kilohearts’ Phase Plant<\/a> and XLN Audio’s RC-20 Retro Color.<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n

“I think this shows the endless possibilities of samples,” Walt comments as the track is being crafted. “Because you can really shape them into your own piece of art.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n
