This week we had an opportunity to catch up with Austian producer Daniel Rosty<\/a><\/strong>, better known to the Splice community as danielrosty<\/a>. We asked him to tell us about his release “Party Non Stop”<\/a><\/b>\u00a0and to show us how Splice fits into his production workflow.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

What inspired you to share this track with the Splice community? <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

I split my track \u201cParty Non Stop\u201d into 4 stems to show how I composed it and to make it available to anyone who wants to make a remix. I have already done it with my song “Apocalypse”<\/a> and hope to upload more songs on Splice which are produced by me alone and not signed to label. I know that there are many talented producers in the community, therefore I am excited to hear what the Splice community can make of it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Tell us about your approach to writing and production. Any favourite sample packs or plugins?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n

\"Producing<\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n

I usually would start with the break, but for this track, I began with a lead line for the drop. To expand and build up a great arrangement, I varied the second drop by adding some Big Room elements. Once I had both drops constructed, I begun to work on the break. The break was very simple, because I played the Offbeat Bass constantly and added some drums, growls and dubstep elements. The Vocal-Phrases I took from a Vengeance Samples Pack, which seems to fit well.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

For the mix down, I put a high-pass filter on almost all samples so that the Offbeat Bass is extremely pumping and also compressed the drums (e.g. Snares, Toms and Claps) for more punch. The most important thing when mixing is to get the right balance between the tracks. And always try your music out on various loudspeakers and headphones to make sure your track sounds great!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

My favourite synthesizers with which I produce my Leads are Lennar Digital\u2019s Sylenth 1<\/a>, refX Nexus<\/a> and Spire<\/a> from Revealed Sound.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As for samples, I really do appreciate the quality of the \u201cSounds of KSHMR<\/a>\u201d pack from Splice<\/a> Sounds. However, I often take my own created samples the \u201cDaniel Rosty Sample Pack 1\u201d which I released 100% royalty-free for everyone. Furthermore I highly recommend the sample packs from W.A. Production, Smokey Loops and Fox Samples as well.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

You\u2019re primarily a FL Studio user. What is it about FL Studio that makes it your DAW of choice? <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

I have used FL Studio from the start of my production because I have always liked the way it looks and because big artists like Martin Garrix<\/strong>, Avicii<\/strong>, Bassjackers<\/strong>, Afrojack<\/strong>, Julian Jordan<\/strong> and many more have used this Digital Work Station (DAW) too.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

However, I have been in the electronic music scene for some time now and in my opinion Logic Pro<\/a>, Ableton Live<\/a> and FL Studio are probably 3 of the most popular DAWs in many professional electronic music studios. It does not actually matter who is using what. What is really important is what YOU feel comfortable working with.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

How has Splice had an impact on your production process or workflow?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n

I have been using Splice and have found it helpful in a number of ways. While it is great at letting you share your music projects and DAW sessions with others, Splice also lets you easily sync and back up your projects in case that you lose your projects on your computer \u2013 so all your music production will be stored on the cloud. The Splice Community<\/a> is one of the most active communities for music production that I have ever been involved with.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

My next favorite feature of Splice is the Splice Sounds library, where I bought my favorite sample pack the \u201cSounds of KSHMR Vol. 1\u201d. This pack is great because all of the samples are completely ready to go for any banger you are making.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Moreover, you can download the project files of other tracks on Splice and I am sure that it will help many producers to learn about how other people make their music. I have downloaded only one project so far \u2013 \u201cMemories\u201d produced by KSHMR & Bassjackers<\/a>” – and I have learned a lot from that project.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

You\u2019ve had quite a few users in the community Splice the project file for \u201cParty Non Stop” \u2013 what do you hope that they\u2019ll do with it? <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

When I released \u201cParty Non Stop\u201d, I was sharing it to the Splice community hoping that other upcoming producers can learn something from it and that somebody would want to remix the track. I am just happy to share some music for free with everyone.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Where do you think that you music is headed next? Anything else you’d like to share with us?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

About 3 years ago, house music started slowly changing for me. In my opinion Bigroom House gradually started to decline and with so many new sub-genres such as Trap, Future House, Tropical House, and Future Bass, you may never be able to predict the future of EDM music. However, I will never quit making music. In the near future, I am planning to make a \u201cWhat If\u201d Video of the track \u201cTell Me Why\u201d from Supermode.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

My wish is to become more known in the next few years, playing at the Danube Island Festival in Vienna or Electric Love Festival in Salzburg and to collab other known artists such as Morgan J, Rene Rodrigezz, JAGGS, JETFIRE, Bounce Inc. and many more.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
