Sometimes, it&#8217;s the &#8216;small&#8217; (for lack of a better term) tracks that suck you in in an intimate and intense way that creates more impact than any epic song.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>On that note, let\u2019s dive into this week\u2019s Songwriting Club prompt: <strong>write a song that feels small.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Here&#8217;s my example:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-audio alignwide\"><audio controls src=\"https:\/\/splice.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/10\/small-song.mp3\" loop preload=\"auto\"><\/audio><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Although it\u2019s not a requirement, if you used a sound you found on <a aria-label=\"Splice Sounds (opens in a new tab)\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" href=\"https:\/\/splice.com\/features\/sounds\" target=\"_blank\">Splice Sounds<\/a>, let us know! If you want to use Splice Sounds in your song but don\u2019t have an account, get your first month free with the code <strong>songwriting<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>If you\u2019re feeling proud of your tune or you\u2019re looking for some feedback, upload it to the <a aria-label=\"Splice community (opens in a new tab)\" href=\"https:\/\/splice.com\/features\/community\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Splice community<\/a>, SoundCloud, YouTube, Bandcamp, etc., and toss the link in the comments below. Before you share, just make sure you\u2019re following these guidelines:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol><li><strong>Make sure your track aligns with the prompt<\/strong> \u2013 it should be something that you\u2019ve specifically written in response to this blog post.<\/li><li><strong>No promotional posts<\/strong> \u2013 no links to contests, social media pages, etc.<\/li><li><strong>Comment on at least one other person\u2019s song before you go<\/strong> \u2013 even if it seems small to you, your praise or critique can make a transformative impact on someone else\u2019s craft.<\/li><li><strong>Give a quick summary of your goals for your song<\/strong> \u2013 asking for feedback on specific aspects (ex. the lyrics, chord progression, etc.) is also recommended!<\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p>Check back in for <a href=\"https:\/\/splice.com\/blog\/something-spooky-songwriting-club\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" aria-label=\"your next prompt (opens in a new tab)\">your next prompt<\/a> on October 30th.
