To celebrate the release of Southside and PVLACE\u2019s collaborative pack<\/a> with their newest signees, we sat down with India to learn about her start in making type beats all the way to working with YoungBoy Never Broke Again.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Take us to the beginning \u2013 how did you start producing? Who were your early influences? Tell us about the Central Florida hip hop scene. <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

I was around nine and I really wanted to know how my favorite artists made hits. I was already a computer nerd, so I got the FL Studio demo version and figured it out. What a lot of people don\u2019t know is that there’s an age difference of 14 – 16 years between me and all of my siblings. My parents are also way older, so my musical influences are all over the place. One minute, I could be listening to DeBarge, and then Aaliyah in the next, or maybe even The Hot Boyz.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The whole Central Florida hip hop scene is full of talent. Rod Wave, LPB Poody, Hotboii, 9lokknine, Jimbo World, and way more artists been going dumb. To me, the whole Florida hip hop scene doesn\u2019t get the credit it deserves. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

You got your start making type beats. Tell us about starting your YouTube channel and getting your name out through making type beats<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

At the time, I was trying to figure out how I could possibly build a ‘following’ or support system. I tried to start a YouTube channel previously, but I didn\u2019t feel like it was ‘good enough.’ This was around 2017 – 2018, and the artist I listened to the most was NBA YoungBoy \u2013 heavily production from Dj Swift, Dubba AA \/ This Is The Sound, Q Red, etc. My favorite rappers are Boosie and Webbie. Mouse On The Track is one of my favorite producers. Whatever I was listening to was what the kind of stuff I was putting out on YouTube. I started with 500 views, then it got to 50,000, and then it kept growing. The views and making type beats brought me a lot of placements, like “Step Harder” and “Come Get Me” by Yungeen Ace.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
